Kuntala Waterfall Adilabad district Andhra Pradesh

Kuntala Waterfall is waterfall located in Kuntala, Adilabad district, Andhra Pradesh. It is located on Kadem river in Neredigonda mandal. It is the highest waterfall in the state of Andhra Pradesh with a height of 147 feet .Adilabad is bestowed with nature’s beauty at it’s best. In the dense forests of the sahayadri mountain range are present many big and small waterfalls, which are fed by monsoons. Most of these waterfalls run through the living habitats of local tribal communities.

Thus giving a feast of ancient and ethnic culture of the tribals amalgamated with Mother Nature; to the eyes of the beholder. Among these Kuntaala and Pochera waterfalls are prominent.According to the popular and prevalent local belief Kuntala Waterfall got its name after Shakuntala, the beloved wife of King Dushyanth; the pair fell in love with each other and were mesmerized by the scenic beauty of the surroundings


Best time to visit : The months of July to December. So that you can enjoy the full flow of rain water.

Sarala Sagar Dam is located about 6 Kms away from Kothakota Mandal Head quarters on National Highway No. 7 from Hyderabad to Kurnool. Sarala Sagar Dam is the proof for the development of Science and Technology in Mahaboobnagar District. The Dam has been implemented by a rare and wonderful automatic Siphons System. This is only one of its kinds in Asian Continent and Second in the World. Wanaparthy Ruler Raja Rameshwara Rao had built this Dam on the name of his mother. The Technology for this project was brought from California In USA . In this Dam 17 hood Siphons, 4 priming siphons were used. Whenever the Water level of the tank exceeds its capacity the siphons System automatically opens. 

This is the speciality of these siphons. The military Governor of Hyderabad Major General Sri J.N. Chowdary has laid the foundation on 15th September, 1949. This Dam was started in the year 1959. Approximately 4000 Acres of Agricultural land has been brought under irrigation through this project.

Somasila Dam Nellore Andra Pradesh

It is constucted across River Pennar and is situated near Somasila Village of nanthasagaram Mandal, Nellore District. The Somsila reservoir serves water needs of total Penna delta and few more barrages located in the downstream across the river.Not only with the temple here, the village has so many attractions regarding water falls, some adventurous trekking and ashramam. . It is one of the most beautiful place in Nellore District and the winter is the best time to visit
