Challapalli Fort Krishna district Andhra Pradesh

Challapalli or Challapalle is a village and Mandal in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India..challapalli Fort was built in the 18th century as the capital of Devarkota Estate and the town developed around the palace. It remains as a great example of Andhra architecture to this very day. and is being ruled by Jamindars till today.Challapalli village is a historical village and business center. Before the Independence Challapalli was ruled by Zamindars. 

The Fort of Challapalli is more than 400 years old. Agriculture, largely sugar, is the primary industry in this area, and there is still a large sugar refinery in the town, currently operating under the business name KCP Sugars.here are historical places like Ghantasala, Avanigadda, Hamsala divi, Pedakalle palli, Mopidevi, Srikakulam, Movva, Kuchipudi near to this village. The fort in this village is one of the main forts in Krishna district.challapalli  It remains as a great example of Andhra architecture to this very day.

My Grand Father Sankabattula Satyanarayana(Late) used to say as, he was their in Challapalli Palace in his Childhood and the Jamindras ruling and the Elephants walk when Raja Comes out of the Palace and the Mid Night Bells for Indication of Time to the Villagers and his round around all the sounding Villages on Business.


    I am relay happy to see this artical and too for the Palace Image waited to see from past 26 years.
